Virtual Analog presets now play 3.8 dB quieter, so the preset pack is about as loud as the factory FM presets. A Level row on a Virtual Analog preset's EDIT screen sets that preset's loudness and is saved with it, and the Mono row is back in the same list. The preset pack is re-levelled so its presets sit closer together; install the pack again to get the new levels. On an FM preset's EDIT screen, the lit OP key follows the operator on screen, and the top-row key lights no longer flicker dimly there or while the arpeggiator runs. A new Ext Ctrl CC7 Vol setting in the Global Settings' MIDI group stops outside gear from changing the volume when it is Off. Pressing both OCT buttons together no longer leaves ALGORITHM transposing. Break Point names its note as a DX7 does, so 39 is C3. The scope on the HOME screen follows the color theme. It also includes FM-1_087's fixes: presets 113 to 128 play as FM again on a synth without the preset pack, and a DX7 patch or bank sent from Dexed or another editor loads as FM, keeping each preset's effects and envelope settings.

The FM-1 now answers MIDI CCs on its MIDI Channel. A controller can turn the four knobs, step through presets (holding the button keeps stepping), press the panel's buttons, set the volume with CC 7, and change the main FM and Virtual Analog settings. Notes that are already sounding change at once. The CC numbers are in the manual, under MIDI.
A small triangle marks the chosen preset in the preset list, so it stands out in every color theme. The marker beside the highlighted row on the GLOBE screen now changes color as soon as you change Theme.
With Envelope on, Release now sets how long a Virtual Analog note fades after you let go, from 0.1 seconds to 2 seconds.
A pattern can now be up to 64 steps long, where M-VAVE's firmware stops at 16. Set the length with Steps on the Sequencer screen; pressing SAVE keeps all of them. The Sequencer's list adds Time Multiplier, which stretches, squeezes, doubles, or halves a pattern, and Copy Repeater, which copies a pattern after itself so it plays twice. In step recording, holding SEL while you play keys adds their notes to the step, and the GLOBE screen's Overdub Rec setting swaps adding and replacing. Clear Pattern now returns every step to 1/16.
is a beta. It has passed its tests on an emulator of the FM-1 and has not yet run on a synth, so it may have problems. You can reinstall the current release, FM-1_089, at any time.
is older than the current release, FM-1_089. Installing it takes your FM-1 back to ; the synth accepts an older release.
